Frequently Asked Questions
Are you licensed and properly insured to provide this service?
A very important and great question! Yes, we are NY state licensed Nuisance Wildlife Control Operators. We also carry the proper insurance to cover us as wildlife control specialists.
Do you have the experience to do this kind of work?
Yes. We have been working with wildlife for over 30 years. Coyote and fox removal is a specialized service that should only be contracted with those that have experience trapping and proper safe handling of K9s; which we have!
At what point are our coyote sightings indicating that we have a problem and I need to hire a professional to trap them?
The best thing we can say is that if the coyotes are making you uncomfortable and you feel threatened, then it is time.
My cats are being chased and stalked by coyotes/foxes! What can we do?
If you have made efforts to secure your pets the best you can and have tried scaring the pest coyote or fox away with no avail, then call us to remove them.
We are pretty sure we have a fox denning under our shed or deck. What can we do?
If you feel you can live in harmony, then by all means leave them be. They will reduce your local pest animal populations and eventually move on. If you can’t have them there for one reason or another, give us a call. We can haze the dens or trap to remove them.
I hear howling at all hours of the night, and it sounds like there are 20 coyotes out there. Should we be concerned?
Not necessarily. Coyotes have the ability to make several vocalizations at once making 2 coyotes sound more like 10. If they are minding their own business, then we always suggest leaving them be.
We have a fox killing chickens. Can we have it trapped?
Yes, you can contact us to have your pest fox removed.
A nuisance coyote has decided that our dogs are on the menu. What are the next steps to have this pest coyote removed properly?
Call us ASAP to get things going before things get too ugly. We will work quickly to get the ball rolling for you.
We often see a fox or coyote in the yard. We live in a neighborhood and don’t own much land. Can this nuisance pest coyote or fox still be removed?
Yes. We can still trap and remove from single small yards. Ultimately, the more neighbors and land we can line up for the traps, the better. But we can work with whatever we have to in order to get things going for you.
Do you charge for this service?
Yes, we do charge for our professional coyote and fox removal service.
How much does this cost?
This is a difficult question to answer without us asking several questions and providing an on-site consultation to evaluate the situation.
Do you service both residential and commercial properties?
Yes. We are set up to service any home, commercial property, or municipality.
The thought of having traps out in our yard is scary. Is this safe to be doing with kids and pets around?
The traps we use are designed for the well being of the animals we are trapping. They are so safe that we are hired at times to trap lost or stray dogs with them. They have made many advancements in traps over the years, making them extremely safe and kind to all animals. We would be happy to show you all these key features, how they work, and why they are important.
Are you able to provide humane trapping for coyote and fox?
All legally used traps are considered humane by law. With that said, some are better choices than others; and that is what we prefer! At the end of the day, the animal’s wellbeing and comfort is our top priority. Our foothold traps are designed to simply hold on to it until we get there and are able to transfer it to a cage for transport.
Are foothold traps humane and safe?
We use the best, safest, and most humane traps possible for what we do. Not all companies or trappers can say that. But WE CAN, and we do so with pride!
Can you cage trap our nuisance coyote?
We have trapped a few this way. As a rule, most coyotes will not commit to a cage trap and enter it readily. We will be happy to try this route for you. However, doing so often educates the coyotes quickly to the game and makes it that much harder to successfully trap if we end up switching to foothold traps.
Do you cage trap foxes?
Foot hold traps are usually the best option when trapping any K9. However, we have trapped many foxes over the years in cage traps.
If you trap our nuisance fox or coyote, will you relocate it?
Many factors play a role in the answer to this question. We have to look at each case and animal and determine if it is healthy, and if it could present a problem elsewhere. We do relocate a lot of foxes and on occasion coyotes; but they are all on a case-by-case basis.
We see a mangy fox in our backyard. Help! What can you do?
We often trap in these cases and bring it to a wildlife rehabilitator where it can get the medical attention it needs before being released back out into the wild.
This seems like a pretty specialized kind of work. Can just anybody do this?
No. This isn’t something that just anyone can do. It takes education, licensing, and years of experience to do what we do. Without all of this, the end result can be devastating for you and or the target animal.
Our pest control company said they will trap our nuisance animal. Is this something you recommend?
What we do as professional trappers isn’t something most pest companies can provide. We are specialized in nuisance wildlife control. We do this work daily, and that combined with our continued education/training is what allows us to successfully handle wildlife, where pest companies specialize in insects. Furthermore, we are the company that most pest companies subcontract to take care of these issues. With all that said, most times a pest type company is simply going to muddy the waters and make the removal of your nuisance animal more difficult and in some situations… impossible!
We have seen your trucks around, what kind of area do you cover?
We will service both locally and anywhere around the US.
Our hunting property has had coyote issues for a while. Can you help?
Absolutely we can help with this. We have yearly contracts with several hunting properties and campgrounds to keep coyote and fox numbers in check. Doing this helps local wildlife populations; as well as helps keep coyote and fox populations healthier.
We suspect a fox has rabies in our yard. Can you remove a rabid fox?
Yes. We will come and attempt to remove the rabid fox or coyote. Oftentimes they turn out to be otherwise sick or injured, but we will respond in a timely manner to address the issue.
Outside of nuisance removals, what other types of work do you do?
We love educating the public on the subject of wildlife, animals, and coexisting with them. Additionally, we have been asked to put on seminars on subjects covering our scope of work. Along with removing nuisance wildlife, we make it a point to help provide habitat to those animals we remove. In doing so we manage/own several relocation sites around our core coverage area.
We love animals! Is there anything we can do to help?
If you own land, we are always looking for release sites to manage. We also will gladly accept land donations or funds to secure lands for wildlife habitat. All of this helps the animals!
